Meet Back Bay Cycling Club (B2C2), a Boston-based, competitive cycling team with great ambition and a friendly disposition. B2C2 team members are active in the disciplines of road racing, cross-country mountain bike racing, and cyclocross racing throughout New England and beyond. B2C2 prides itself on its diverse roster of athletes. Comprised of inspired beginners, seasoned elite racers, strong men, and equally strong women, B2C2 provides a home for aspiring athletes of all backgrounds and experience levels.
B2C2 formed during the summer of 2008 when a four-person team entered the 24-hours of Pat's Peak mountain bike race in Henniker, NH. After battling through the night, the team emerged victorious. Riding on that success, that same team entered the 24-hour’s of Great Glen, contested at the base of Mt. Washington. Again, the team placed 1st in the Men’s Sport category.
The cyclocross season saw similar triumphs, with 1st year riders taking podium finishes at Sucker Brook ‘Cross in Auburn, NH, The Grand Prix of Gloucester in Gloucester, MA, and The Cycle-Smart International in Northampton, MA. From these humble beginnings, a team was born. B2C2 currently fields a team of 30+ active racers, from Category 4 to UCI Elite. B2C2 is proud to host one of the largest women's team in the region. With over 40 percent of the roster comprised of women, B2C2 is committed to the development of women's cycling and the promotion of equality throughout the sport. Beginning in 2015, B2C2 became home to an elite-level women's cyclocross team, Team Averica, to highlight the importance of supporting and growing women's cycling from the local, grassroots level.
Alongside a deep commitment to racing, B2C2 believes in and seeks out opportunities to create awareness for an active and healthy lifestyle, environmentally friendly practices, and social responsibility through our racing and riding endeavors. B2C2 is supported by fantastic sponsors that mirror these fundamental beliefs. Learn more about our sponsors (Boloco, Averica, JRA Cycles, and BikeReg) and how to support them on our 'Sponsors' page.
