We are well into the depths of what is fast becoming a winter of monumental proportions (and one I'm personally anxious to forget). We here in Boston have withstood the abuse of a series of highly aggressive, highly unprecedented, and now, highly unwelcome storms. These storms, which have plummeted the Boston area with snow drifts higher than the fanciest of penny-farthings and professional NBA players, have left us with temperatures that have given rise to an enlivened @iceworld666 account, a completely obliterated public transportation system, and bicycles in sore need of sunshine, lube, and new components.

And with a new season of road and mountain bike racing lurching just around the corner, the time is nigh for building, prepping, and riding bikes. If only there were some place to scope out excellent deals on all kinds of gear before the season started. Gosh, that would be swell!  Oh right. THERE IS.

The 2015 edition of the B2C2 Spring Bike Swap is under two weeks away, just in time for the early bird races. As many of you know, B2C2 runs a Boston-area bike swap as a fundraiser for the team and other deserving causes, and as a general party/hang out for all the friends you haven't seen since the end of 'cross. This year, after much pleading, we are holding the event as an all-day affair on Saturday, February 28 at District Hall in South Boston. Vendor spaces are nearly SOLD OUT and we are anticipating a great turnout by vendors and buyers alike. For those of you who haven't been to the recently constructed civic space, District Hall is worth the trip all on its own. With white board walls all around and ample space to plug in, plus the required caffeine and food accoutrements, District Hall is a truly unique space in Boston designed specifically for the innovator in all of us.

District Hall, Boston's home for innovation - 75 Northern Avenue, Boston, MA 02210

As usual, we will be running a raffle at the door with prizes from a host of local businesses including Boloco, Back Bay Bicycles, c2, Schon Design, Cuppow, Team Awesome, GPM Sports Group, The North Face, and others! We will not have a bake sale this year, but the fine folks at Gather, located within District Hall, will be most happy to receive your post-bike swap hunger and thirst. We will, however, have surround sound, and someone will be on DJ duty. Maybe we can get one of those fancy-pants DJs, like R. Kelly, (that is, Ryan T. Kelly, from the Internet) to make an appearance.

Did I mention you can write ALL OVER the walls? Expo markers will be provided!

To conclude, we are psyched about the event in the new space, and I for one am looking to pick up a bundle of items at the swap. We hope to see you there! See the deets below and thanks for tuning in!
